What is PBIS?

PBIS is a team based, systematic approach in teaching behavioral expectations throughout the school. It is based on a proactive model which teaches the behaviors, reinforces and recognizes students who are able to model these behaviors and has systems in place to support students who have a difficult time or may present with more challenging behaviors.

What does PBIS look like at Franklin?

We are Franklin Roadrunner's that follow the 3 R's - Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn. Everyday we pledge to show kindness, to make good choices, and to participate in our school community. When we follow the 3R's we can earn DOJO points. DOJO points help us earn fun whole school incentives as well as classroom rewards. We set goals as a school to earn big incentives like assemblies, movies and popcorn or extra recesses. We can also use our DOJO points to buy items from our DOJO Trading Box in our classroom. Some things we can buy are pencils, backpacks, t-shirts, and lunch with different teachers! This keeps us motivated to show expected behaviors and follow the 3 R's.
