About Mrs. Connors

Leslie ConnorsI have been part of the West Allis- West Milwaukee School District for over 20 years. I began my career at Lincoln Elementary School and taught first through fourth grades. I transferred to Irving Elementary School into the Special Education Department in which I opened a "Transitional" program for students needing intensive intervention in various disability areas. I then taught at Wilson Elementary School in various combination grades. After receiving my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum from Cardinal Stritch University, I became a Teacher Leader coaching other teachers on District initiatives and researched based teaching practices. During this tenure in West Allis, I have been fortunate to have worked with incredible students, families and teachers.

I have a wonderful family that you often hear me talking about; my husband Jim and three daughters. Because of them, my belief in educating the "whole child" has continued to grow. I believe all children need a connected, rigorous academic, emotional, social and behavioral curriculum that is taught through meaningful and engaging instruction to prepare them for their future. With this philosophy as my cornerstone, I proudly serve as principal of Franklin Elementary School.
